In September, the Archdiocese of Louisville Building Committee approved the plans for our new Parish Life Center.  Robert Cecil, The Chief Financial Officer of the Archdiocese also approved our plan to use the proceeds from the sale of our Hikes Lane property to pay for the construction (Note:  The Archdiocese is handling the sale).  On October 5, the Louisville Metro Board of Zoning Adjustment approved the planned campus location of the new Parish Life Center and a new storage garage (to be constructed independently of the new Parish Life Center).  Working with our architects, the construction documents for our new Parish Life Center were completed and on Monday, October 12, Patrick Blackburn, our architect, sent the drawings and specifications out to general contractors, asking for bids to construct the building.  The bids are due on November 10.  At that time, we will review the bids and make a recommendation to the Archbishop on which general contractor we would like to work with.  We are hopeful we will be able to break ground, yet this year, and anticipate a 9 month construction schedule.

The members of the parish who are working on this project (in alphabetical order) are:  Tim Buckley, Jay Comstock, Father Peter, Ron Hohmann, Frank Hulsman, Jack Kastensmidt, Ken Thieneman, and Tom Wargel.  Our architect is Patrick Blackburn, assisted by Ji Kim, with VBNA.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Frank Hulsman via email:, or you can call him at: (502) 298-5340.
